The Beginning of a Great Initiative

Inspired by a sense of purpose, Karen Eriksson-Lee, our Board of Directors' President, felt compelled to take action. Recognizing the need for essential items among survivors of human trafficking, she envisioned the Healing Tote project.

Friendship and Skill in Action

Karen consulted with her longtime friend, Joannie O'Neill. Together, they took the idea from concept to reality. Joannie, a skilled seamstress, lovingly sewed the first set of Healing Totes, turning them into more than just bags—they became packages of hope and care.

Joining Forces for a Greater Cause

Our mission found a synergistic partner in Penny Hoeflinger and her nonprofit organization, Coffee House Farms. This collaboration allowed us to extend our reach and include educational programs that inform the public about the realities of human trafficking. The Healing Totes became a cornerstone of this combined effort.

Expanding Our Reach

We've successfully sent Healing Totes to individuals in Virginia, West Virginia, and Nebraska. And we're not stopping there! Plans are underway to send our next batch of totes overseas.
