Why It Matters

October flew by and was filled with challenges and blessings alike, causing this edition to go out on the last day of the month instead of one of the first days.

At the end of September, I visited Williamsburg, VA, and walked down the cobblestone streets of their living history museum. It was the first time I've been there since I was a child, and it was amazing to see how well preserved it is.

With this being the 250th anniversary of our country's independence from England, and critical elections coming up in a couple of days, it was an important reminder of how many people fought and died for our freedom here in the United States of America.

There has been such a push to denigrate our Nation, tear down traditional family life, and pit children against their parents and siblings, causing separation between them and their God-given support system.

Looking at the village of homes and shops reminded me how important community is to the health of a family, town, state, and nation. Williamsburg preserves so much history, and it highlights the best and worst of humanity, and reminds us that we truly are "One Nation under God."

It's important to visit Williamsburg, where Patrick Henry gave his famous speech, "Give me liberty, or give me death!" as we fight to save this country from a socialist party takeover that would like to see our nation become a communist country, plunging us into a darkness we fought hard against to become the United States of America.

If you need a reminder of how and why our country came to be, of the men and women who stood up for freedom at their own peril, and of why we must not allow propaganda by bad actors to cause us to take our hands off the wheel of freedom, then you must visit Williamsburg, VA.

We must remember the past, stay alert in the present, and keep our eyes on the forces trying to undermine our freedom. So, go to Williamsburg, explore history, and make memories with your family. Then, vote like your life and our country depend on it!
